BIG NEWS!!!

I’ll start off with an apology: I’m sorry it’s been so long since I posted on my blog! It’s been a crazy time for me—very stressful, yet exciting at the same time! Over the last two and half months, I’ve been in a constant state of anxiety over the fate of my five novels and the future of my writing career. I can now state, without reservation, that it’s all been worth it—the chronic stomach aches, waiting and waiting some more, self-doubt etc.—all of it!

BIG NEWS!!!!

As you know, my old publisher closed their doors effective May 31st and all of my books were taken down and are currently unavailable. I spent the early part of May researching, querying, and communicating with other publishers in an attempt to find the best home for them. The latter half of the month was occupied by waiting. And waiting. And waiting. June was a whirlwind of additional research, question/answer sessions, and decision making. At last, contracts were drawn up, reviewed, and signed. And today, the announcement can be made.

I am THRILLED to FINALLY announce that I’ve signed a seven-book deal with a fantastic publisher. The deal includes rights to my five existing novels (Just Friends With Benefits, A State of Jane, Blogger Girl, How Do You Know? and Novelista Girl) along with two new novels, including the third installment of the Blogger Girl series!

I’d been researching new publishers for my next novel even before my old publisher announced it was closing so I already had several on my shortlist. I became familiar with Henery Press after reading and thoroughly enjoying The Breakup Doctor by Phoebe Fox, and after doing some research online, I added the publisher to my list. After I learned that rights to my books would revert to me on June 1st, I submitted my novels to them for consideration and will never forget the moment I read the email from their senior associate editor, Erin George, telling me that Henery Press loved my books and wanted to set up a call to discuss—I was on an airplane and we’d just landed at JFK Airport from Phoenix, Arizona. During our phone call a few days later, Erin told me that Henery Press wanted to offer me a seven-book deal. After consulting with some of their authors as well as the president of the company, I knew rather quickly there was only one right decision—Yes. Hell yes!

It’s official!

I’ve heard nothing but glowing reviews about Henery Press and I am so happy to officially be a member of the family. In the coming weeks and months, I’ll provide more updates and timelines as to when the books will be back up—not until early next year. You might think that’s a long time delay, but a) I’m confident it will be worth the wait and b) I’m pretty sure I’ll have something else to share with you before the end of 2016—stay tuned!
